On 29^th October 2023, Sundaram Medical Foundation organised a Walkathon at Olcott memorial school-Besant Nagar. Renowned poet, activist and Member of Parliament Dr. Thamizhachi Thangapandian graced the event as the chief guest and flagged off the rally. Rtn Dr Vijaya Bharathi, Dist Governor elect  Rtn Ravi Raman,  and Rtn Sesha Sai were amongst the distinguished Rotarians who took part in it.

The event commenced with an inspirational address by Dr.Thamizhachi Thangapandian, who emphasized the importance of early detection, support, and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

The walkathon began with an energetic Zumba dance session, led by professional instructors, which added a vibrant and fun-filled atmosphere to the event. The students and community members, embarked on a rally through the school’s vicinity, carrying placards and banners with messages of support and information about breast cancer awareness

All participants received certificates of participation to acknowledge their contribution to the cause of breast cancer awareness. These certificates were a token of appreciation for their commitment to raising awareness.
